Being German-Finnish, Max grew up in Germany, but spent his childhood summers at his family’s cottage in Eastern Finland – a tradition he now continues with his own children. Frankfurt & Cordoba
Max was born in Augsburg and grew up in Frankfurt. As a child he played football and field hockey, played bass guitar in a heavy metal band and then became politically active. He studied in Germany and Argentina. After university he moved to Finland.

In 2004 Max moved to Finland and started working with Ilkka Paananen and Mikko Kodisoja at Digital Chocolate. To expand the company's markets, Max first went to São Paulo and later to New York City. After returning to Finland, he changed from the games industry into the field of critical communication.

Max met his wife in New York, got married and moved to the US. Initially he worked for a Finnish company, but later moved to Texas to work for Dell. When Dell offered a voluntary severance package, Max decided to take the opportunity, moved to Boston and started his own start-up company.

Max returned to Finland with his family in 2017 and expanded his start-up into an international player, published a book Career Chess and won a silver medal in Lidl's Grillimaster competition in Helsinki.

As an economist, Max studied at the Johann Wolfgang von Goethe University in Frankfurt and the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba in Argentina. He began his political career at the age of 18 and settled in the and stood for election to the German Bundestag at the age of 21. He was later twice elected to the Frankfurt Frankfurt City Council. This early political experience laid a strong foundation for Max's varied and international career.
On a scholarship from the Friedrich-Naumann Foundation, Max spent a significant period in South America, which deepened his global outlook. After graduating as an economist, Max moved to Finland in 2004 and had the unique opportunity to to work with Ilkka Paananen.
